I'm Kosta, a backend developer based in Georgia. I work as a Java Software Engineer at Magticom, Georgia's largest telecom company, building Camunda BPM-based workflow systems for telecom infrastructure operations, covering things like base station maintenance and network fault resolution, used by hundreds of engineers across the company. My main work stack is a Spring Boot, Kafka, and Oracle. Before that, I supported a high-traffic Java application at Crocobet with 30,000+ daily users, working with Kubernetes, Docker, and Grafana to keep production running. I also completed a 610-hour internship at Devexperts, where I built REST APIs with Spring Boot, JWT auth, and Swagger docs under one-on-one mentorship, and earned their Java Web Developer Certification. Outside of work, I run my own home server infrastructure (via Cloudflare tunnel) and use it to run distributed systems experiments: multi-node clusters, simulated network partitions, node failures. I'm currently working through Spring Security in Action and picking up Thymeleaf and Bootstrap CSS for full-stack Spring Boot work. I care more about understanding something properly rather than collecting a checklist of tutorials.
Building backend systems for Georgia's largest telecom company, working across Camunda BPM-based workflow automation and microservice integrations. Developed and maintained BPMN workflows for Device Trouble and IMS (Incident Management System) - the processes that handle technical incidents and customer complaints across 25+ departments (billing, GSM, roaming, IPTV, corporate services, network infrastructure). This includes registering incidents, assigning tasks to internal engineers or contractors, tracking resolution, and automatically crediting subscribers for verified service downtime. Also reviewed and improved test coverage for these processes, and identified and reasoned through a real authorization inconsistency in how registering users were being identified and stamped on incident records. Currently leading development of huawei-mesh, a standalone Spring Boot microservice (Java 21) integrating with Huawei's iMaster NCE network management platform - binding customer accounts to their mesh router hardware and managing authentication tokens so customers can monitor and manage their home networks. The service is registered with Eureka for service discovery, pulls secrets through HashiCorp Vault, and is containerized for Kubernetes deployment across local/dev/master environments. Supported a high-traffic multi-service Java application (crocobet.com) with 30,000+ daily users. Debugged production issues, monitored systems with Grafana, worked with Kubernetes and Docker, wrote scripts, and collaborated across teams to document and resolve tickets in Jira, keeping the application running reliably at all times. Coordinated and communicated between different teams under pressure and exchanged information between different teams.
Completed a 610-hour internship with one-on-one mentorship, earning the Devexperts Java Web Developer Certification. Designed and implemented RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, integrated JWT authentication, and added OpenAPI/Swagger documentation. Worked with Agile methodologies (Jira), Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity). Built and presented a multi-service financial instruments application covering securities and trading fundamentals.
Designed and implemented a Storage Management System using Java, Neo4j, and Swing, following the waterfall model. Gathered requirements directly from the company representative, built authentication and authorization from scratch, created dynamic charts and tables for data visualization, and applied MVC, Observer, Singleton, and Factory design patterns. Achieved a grade of 89/100.
